Jarome Iginla, Synergy SE16, netted his 400 NHL career goal as a member of the Calgary Flames in an 8 – 6 loss to the Ligntning from Tampa Bay. Goal number 400 was Iginla’s second of the contest, 26th of the season, and his 5th point of the night (which tied the team record which he also holds). The goal and 834th point also established a NEW Calgary Flames club record for career points by a player. Ok, so it was three records. But it was TWO records he had NOT previously held a piece of.

Parise Snipes Goals 37 & 38 in back-to-Back Devils Wins.
New Jersey’s Zach Parise, Stealth S17, notched goals #37 and #38 in WINS over the weekend further solidifying his #2 position for goals scored in the 2008 – 2009 NHL season. The 24 year old Minnesota native and Shattuck St. Mary’s Alum was the 17th player chosen in the 2003 Draft, begging the question, ‘what were the 16 teams choosing ahead of the Devils thinking.’ I know what Easton is thinking! Score! Zach Score!

If DEFENSE wins Championships, What do Offensive DEFENSEMEN WIN?
Is the answer the Norris Trophy? If so, the Easton brand is strongly and strategically positioned to pull off yet another!

Did you know, 60% of the players in the NHL’s Top 20 Scoring by Defenseman this season use Easton Sticks. Mike Green of the Washington Capitals, (pictured center) leads all D-men in scoring with 23 Goals. Interesting to note, Easton is the ONLY manufacturer to crack the 15 goal mark by a defenseman at this point in the season. Easton has 4! (Green, Chara, Souray, Weber) This fact firmly lands Easton as the undisputed leader with a whopping 66% of goals scored and MORE than all competitors combined! I’d say Mike Green, Zdeno Chara, Sheldon Souray, and Shea Weber make a pretty impressive crop of Norris Trophy finalist! Least we again mention Green’s consecutive goals record set two weeks ago? Oh why not, Green stands alone in that category with a record 8-game goal scoring streak! Polish up the Norris!

S9 and S17 Helmets Continue to Show Momentum
Mike Cammalleri (Calgary), Ben Eager (Chicago) and Trent Hunter (NY Islanders) are just 3 recent Easton helmet converts!

Hello from the NHL locker Rooms!

As the NHL Season Hits its ‘Play-off Push’ there is plenty to be excited about!

If there is one indicator that clearly contributes to CONFIDENCE it has to be Momentum! I am here to report that the Easton brand clearly has that in the NHL market place!

Since our last report, an additional 12 player converted to Easton Sticks. The Easton total for 2008-2009 has found the 338 player mark!

This is UP 12 players form our previous report! And yes, this is far and away a position of dominance at the NHL level!

Easton Gloves are UP 11 players to a season high 193 NHLers! YES! The #1 Position in the League!

Pants have demonstrated a nice growth curve as well – 217 Players Up 5 from a previous total of 212!

The momentum for the Easton brand is undeniable! And there have been plenty of celebratory events as well!

Zach Parise, New jersey Devils – Zach has already reached a career high 35 goals and moved into the #2 position in the NHL for goals scored.

Mike Green, Washington Capitals, just call him Captain ‘Old School’ He recently established a league record for goals in consecutive games by a defenseman with 8! Old School or NEW School, Mike Green is just 23 years old!

And, hopefully, you all caught the return of Mats Sundin to Toronto? Well if you didn’t, Sundin’s shootout goal was the climactic Game Winner in his return to the city on Lake Ontario.

Stay tuned, for this season is headed for one exciting finish and you can be sure Easton will be leading the way!

Mike Green has changed his mind. The Hockey Hall of Fame can have his record-breaking stick.

WASHINGTON — Mike Green has changed his mind. The Hockey Hall of Fame can have his record-breaking stick.

The Washington Capitals’ budding star said Wednesday he will donate to the Hall of Fame the stick that served him so well during his eight-game goal-scoring streak, the longest by a defenseman in NHL history. Green had been reluctant to part with the stick, calling the blue and black Easton Stealth with white tape on the handle the best one he’s ever used. It accounted for all 10 goals during his spree, including the record-breaker in the second period of Saturday night’s 5-1 win over Tampa Bay.

“The right thing to do is give it to the Hall of Fame,” Green said after Wednesday night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. “It’s better that it goes to the Hall of Fame than in my garage and I lose it, so I sent it off.”

The Hall of Fame asked for the stick shortly after the record-setting game, but Green said no. He instead contemplated donating something else from the game — perhaps his gloves — so that he could hold on to the stick.

The stick had an unusually long NHL life. Green said his sticks often break after five or six games, but this one lasted about 10 games. He also used it when he went scoreless in Sunday’s victory over the Florida Panthers, the game that ended the streak.

“You can only be superstitious for so long,” he said.

Green has 22 goals on the season, leading all NHL defenseman.

Zach Parise, New Jersey Devils, has his eye on the league leader in the race for ‘Rocket’ Richard’s trophy.

His 29 goals have him in currently in the 3rd position for goals scored. Mike Cammalleri, has 25 and Dany Heatley, Rick Nash and Johan Franzen are right behind with 22.

Speaking of 22!

That is the number that Dan Boyle of the juggernaut San Jose Sharks wears. Boyle is one of FOUR Easton Stick users that currently have a strangle-hold on the scoring race for NHL defensemen. Andrei Markov (Mtl), Mike Green (Wsh), Dan Boyle (SJS), and Mark Streit (NYI) sit atop this list! Norris?

Scoring Trends to Watch

Percentage of player in top 40 for Total Points

Easton 42.9% UP from 40.5%

Bauer 31% no change

Warrior 14.3% down from 16.7%

RBK 11.9% no change

Percentage of player in top 40 for Total Goals

Easton 37.2% UP from 35.4%

Bauer 32.6% down from 35.4%

Warrior 20.9% up from 16.7%

RBK 9.3% up from 8.3%

TPS 2.3% down from 4.2%

Who Knows? We may just see last seasons record of 356 players FALL before this season is in the books!

And, wouldn’t that just be dandy!
