USA Wins Back to Back Gold at Women’s Worlds

Natalie Darwitz, Eagan, MN and leading scorer in University of Minnesota hockey history has lead the US Women’s national team to back-to-back gold medals in the IIHF Women’s World Championships. Named captain of Team USA for the ’07 Women’s Worlds, Darwitz has tallied 29 goals and 29 assists in just 40 WC contests Darwitz splits time between the National Team and her duties as the assistant coach of the University of Minnesota Woman’s hockey program.

She was named the 2008 International Player of the Year and is the #2 scorer in NCAA Hockey History. Natalie is a veteran of both the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics capturing Silver and Bronze for her teams’ efforts. Look for Darwitz to be cornerstone for Team USA in Vancouver in 2010!
